Akshay Kumar will release a song in recognition of the heroic efforts of doctors and nurses who are helping to save lives affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

Taking to twitter on Thursday, Akshay Kumar announced that the song, ‘Terri Mitti – Tribute’ will be released tomorrow at 12.30pm IST.

Sharing with his 39M followers, the Sooryavanshi star, posted:

“Someone has rightly said, in difficult times only our close ones accompany us and in our difficult times at the forefront is our own doctors who are nothing short of soldiers in white coats. Watch #TeriMitti – Tribute tomorrow at 12.30 pm exclusively for them #DirectDilSe”

With a background score of the original track from the 2019 blockbuster Kesari, Akshay Kumar also shared a video of doctors which featured the words:

“Sarhad pe jo wardi khaki thee, ab uska rang safed hua …A salute to the heroes, a tribute to our brave India.”

This is the latest step in a list of wonderful efforts by Akshay Kumar to help combat the coronavirus which has so far had more than 21,000 confirmed cases and 681 deaths in India. This has included an incredible donation of Rs 2.5 crore (£2.5 million) to Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi’s PM CARES FUND as well as getting some of Bollywood’s biggest names to join him for the song #MuskurayegaIndia to raise spirits across the country.
